It takes a special person to make the type of commitment that is required in order to put your personal well being on the line. The St. Marys Fire Department is committed to the safety of its personnel and to the community in which it serves. We all have the belied that your family is our family and in the time of emergency your family will be treated as if they were ours. We do need your help. You may not be able to fight fire but maybe there is something else you can do on an emergency scene to help. Visit one of our meetings and see what you can do to help. Benefits of becoming a SMVFD Volunteer Firefighter Equipment Each Firefighter is issued a complete set of Personnel Protective Equipment to meet National Fire Protective Association Standards. You might be issued a Fire Pager to notify you of the calls. You will also recieve a SMFD T-shirt and ball cap! Training All of the training that you will receive meets with the Georgia Firefighter Standards and Training Council Guidelines for National Professional Qualification standards for Firefighter One. You will also have the opportunity to attend the Georgia Fire Academy in Forsyth, Georgia. & MUCH MORE!! Interested?
